Franchise Expo Paris 2024 : A promising and innovative 42nd edition with new features and first-time highlights

Press release - January 2024
New areas to intensify connections between budding franchisees and exhibitors, a brand new app to improve the visitor experience, theme trails for a more efficient visit, and a new food court and kindergarten: the 42nd edition of Franchise Expo Paris promises to fulfil every expectation with an array of new features!
New areas and tools to intensify connections between visitors and exhibitors

This year the exhibition is welcoming a new area, Tech For Franchise, with a selection of ten or so suppliers offering products and services aimed at retailers, with a special theme this year of the ecological and energy transition. This ranges from energy efficiency technology to solutions aiming to reduce the ecological impact of sales outlets and promote more responsible consumption. To go a step further, the show has also developed a Guide to Responsible Exhibiting to help exhibitors reduce their carbon footprint before, during and after the event.
Another new feature set to be a regular attraction throughout the three days is Franchise Expo Live, a TV studio provided for the benefit of media relocating their programmes to the show venue: three shows a day will address themes connected with franchising: La Matinale de Toute la Franchise, followed by live debate with LSA TV, L’Emission de Tous Entrepreneurs, and finally, the relocation of the SUD RADIO morning show on Sunday morning.

Also in the perspective of helping entrepreneurs plan their business creation, the show is going further this year by encouraging dialogue between candidates and well-established chains with Franchise MeetUp. This networking solution devised for exhibitors and visitors enables the two parties to link up thanks to an online messaging service and an appointment booking system to develop more in-depth discussions.
Thanks to a partnership with Franchise Management, would-be franchises can also test themselves with a new quiz entitled “what’s your entrepreneurial style”,specifically designed to find out whether their profile is compatible with a franchising project.

Supporting future franchisees
In addition to the 19 talks dedicated to supporting future franchisees and hosted by experts, all of whom are members of the French Franchising Federation’s “collège”, the exhibition is this year developing new services to help people with a promising concept identify the best practices in view of developing their franchise network.

A new webinar, broadcasted on the show’s YouTube channel starting on 22 February, will provide owners of a duplicable concept with a preview of the tips and advice that they can receive from the show’s experts if they want to develop their concept into a franchise.

A brand new quiz on “becoming a franchisor”, drawn up in association with Franchise Management, gives an in-depth evaluation of the knowledge and understanding of crucial aspects of franchising. This initiative is designed to help concept owners identify their strengths and areas for improvement, thereby enabling them to set about the franchising process with confidence.

Finally, a “Young Franchisor” Course in partnership with Franchise Management will make its debut at the show on Monday 18 March. Aimed at concept owners wishing to explore the idea of launching a franchise, this course includes a morning of round tables with experts and personal accounts from well-established franchisors, to foster idea sharing. A guided tour of the show will allow participants to meet experts and exhibitors, offering a clear view of the available resources. For people in search of practical advice and seeking to develop their network, the Young Franchisor Course is a crucial step.

Identifying exhibitors more easily
This year, QR codes will be printed on the ground in front of each stand, offering condensed details of each exhibitor. On leaving the show, visitors will be able to download their visiting report, with a summary of all the stands they visited.

The show has also concocted five theme trails to help visitors easily spot the exhibitors that match their interests, according to various criteria.
• New exhibitors
• French Franchising Federation labelled exhibitors
• Exhibitors by sector of activity
• Assistance with starting a business
• Exhibitors by level of liquid capital required.

The entire show at your fingertips
A major new development this year is the creation of a mobile app to keep everything about the show in one’s pocket. This essential tool offers the opportunity to search the exhibitors to visit thanks to an interactive map, consult their information, organise and manage appointments with them, book a place at a talk, workshop or pitch session, and save the visitor badge. In its eco-friendly momentum, the show is ringing the changes by this year offering a digital version of the badge, available on the app.

A grand prize draw will also be organised for the users of the application, with a long list of prizes to be won throughout the show.
The Franchise Expo Paris app can be downloaded on registration for the show and is available on all platforms.

A pleasant and convenient visit for all visitors.
Due to the show being held on a weekend, and so as not to exclude anyone, the exhibition is opening a kindergarten for the first time (stand D61 – from 9.30am to 7.00pm) to give parents the chance to fully concentrate on their visit and appointments.

From lunchtime to afternoon tea, visitors and exhibitors alike will also have the opportunity to enjoy an extensive catering and snack range. This year, the show introduces a brand new food court, giving visitors a taste of products from a selection of exhibitors.

Finally, for the first time, a Retail Tour will be organised on Monday 18 March to discover around ten innovative sales outlets in Paris. They all display original approaches in terms of retail design, proximity, services, hybridisation, CSR or customer experience.

About the French Franchising Federation
A major player in the dynamism of the French economy, the French Franchising Federation is the professional federation of franchisors and their franchisees since 1971. It represents the franchising model, a model of entrepreneurship based on the transfer of know-how and the sharing of value. Its role is to promote, defend and perpetuate the franchise model, but also to federate its ecosystem and create the tools and the environment for the development and performance of franchise networks. In 1981, the French Franchise Federation created the Franchise Expo Paris exhibition, which has since become a major annual international franchising event.
In France, franchising accounts for 1,972 networks, 84,497 franchised outlets, for a turnover of more than 76.6 billion euros. The activity generates 828,178 jobs (direct and indirect). In 2009, the FFF created the Acadélmie de la Franchise, the first training organisation for franchising professions, whose services are aimed at future franchisees, but also to future and current franchisors.
