8 good reasons to choose franchising for your business
1. Franchising enables you to get started in business quickly, in reassuring and secure conditions.

While launching a business and promoting it is often a long and stressful journey for many entrepreneurs, franchising offers the franchisee the opportunity to benefit from a tried and tested concept, and to take advantage of the reputation and know-how of an established brand. By allowing franchisees to use the image, concept and reputation of a recognised brand name, franchising thus guarantees a quick and efficient launch at moderate risk.

2. Franchising is a business creation model that is open and accessible to everyone

With 1,965 franchise networks, 79,134 points of sale and 795,441 direct and indirect jobs in France alone, franchising is a model that provides opportunities to people whatever their profile, age and educational background!
Here, personality and the desire to run a business are what matter most before you get started. As an illustration, the average age of first-time franchisees is only 36, four out of ten franchisees are women, and nearly half of all franchisees have at best a high school leaving cert qualification.

3. Franchising offers a wide range of activities to do business in

With nearly 2,000 franchising networks in France, there is an infinite range of franchise business opportunities that cover a wide array of business sectors, whether in retail, services, fast food, household fittings, health and beauty, home help services, automotive, or real estate. The franchising model offers a multitude of opportunities, including in emerging sectors, with new brands specialising in indoor leisure, home shopping delivery or DIY which are developing and flourishing at the moment - in step with new French consumer trends. In this respect, franchising is particularly popular with people looking for a career change, for whom it appears to be a springboard towards a new life: one in two franchisees change sector compared with their former job, while 76% of franchisees were employees previously.

4. Franchising simplifies business creation by providing essential training and support

This is one of the major assets of franchising. The franchisor transmits their know-how to the franchisee to ensure they can properly get to grips with the brand. With initial and continuous training programmes, the franchisee thus benefits from support throughout their journey and their career project. 53% of franchisees indeed choose franchising due to the support that it offers.

5. Franchising promotes professional mobility and enables people to do business everywhere in France and worldwide

With 37% of franchised points of sale located in towns of under 20,000 inhabitants, 30% in towns with between 20,000 and 100,000 inhabitants, and 33% in cities with more than 100,000 inhabitants, franchising offers significant geographical liberty. Thanks to franchising, three out of four franchisees can launch in their home region, or in one they are particularly fond of. Beyond French borders, franchising also offers multiple opportunities: 35% of French franchise networks are also established abroad.

6. Franchising offers a balance between support and independence in doing business

Founded on the association of two independent business owners who have mutually agreed to a set of reciprocal rights and duties, franchising guarantees the independence and freedom of the franchisee with regard to the franchisor. While the franchisee must follow the concept that the brand has made available to them, they nonetheless remain the sole decision-maker with regard to the location of their business and how they run it.

7. Banks trust in the franchising concept for business creation

Considered to be a reliable model that produces results quickly, franchising reassures banking institutions when it comes to offering financing solutions. 66% of franchisees say that doing business as a franchise helped them obtain their loan from the bank.

Which bank will you choose to support you?

8. Franchising fosters and accelerates successful entrepreneurship

Volume strategy, operational standardisation and regular innovation are all assets that work in favour of the profitability and success of franchised points of sale compared with stand-alone traders. In this respect, franchising is a fantastic way of getting results quickly. To prove it, six out of ten franchisees recorded an increase in their annual sales last year.
